Rox Factor XIa
A highly sensitive chromogenic kit for determination of activated Factor XI activity (FXIa). Especially suitable for detecting FXIa contamination in Immunoglobulin products.
Key characteristics
- Excellent tool for detecting Factor XIa contamination in Immunoglobulin preparations such as IVIG’s and SCIG’s.
- Limit of detection 0.03 mIU/mL FXIa.
- Very high sensitivity – Sample matrix interference can be overcome by high sample dilution.
- Stability of Reagents after reconstitution 8 hours at 2-8℃.
- Factor XIa Calibrator and Control available as separate products.
Kit information
- 1 Kit = 2 x 50 tests (manual microplate method).
- For In Vitro Research Use Only.
- Not intended for analysis of human plasma.
- FXIa calibrator and control not included – available as separate products.
Measurement principle
FXIa functional activity is determined in a chromogenic method. FXIa in the sample activates human FIX to FIXa in the presence of calcium ions. Generated FIXa activates human FX in the presence of human FVIII, calcium ions and phospholipid. The amount of activated FX is determined from the hydrolysis of a chromogenic FXa substrate and is related to the FXIa activity of the sample. The concentration of functionally active FXIa is assigned vs. a FXIa Calibrator and expressed in International Units.
The activation of Factor IX by Factor XIa is performed in two steps:
- Initial activation of FIX in the absence of phospholipids.
- Continued activation of FIX in the presence of FX and phospholipids, therewith allowing concomitant activation of FX.
